Journey Series

This ongoing body of work explores my own personal journey through various stages of life…..each painting becoming an abstract visual narrative documenting a specific passage in time. For this series, I have chosen encaustic as my primary medium for its unique physical and metaphorical properties.  The allure has to do with its optical depth, luminosity and varying degrees of transparency which create an ongoing dynamic between concealment and revelation.

In these works, I have explored the many possibilities of encaustic painting while using it as a vehicle giving visual expression to my own emotional and physical journey. I leave it up to the viewer to interpret and complete each work based on one’s own personal vision and experience.
